Objectives
The Focus Area on Protocol Verification Testing provides a forum for discussion among experts and officials from the governments, private sector firms, and NGOs to provide input to the process of developing a systematic approach to international test of CFLs. The aims of the Focus Area are:
to establish a network of laboratories committed to voluntary participation in the first phase of the international CFL harmonisation initiative to devise a methodology for, and undertake, a comparison test among laboratories on a number of continents to verify the practicability of the proposed revisions to the Testing Protocol (version 13) and to resolve outstanding issues related to the protocol and to provide complete transparency of testing activities and results to provide stakeholder confidence in the above actions.
View Current Proposals Review and Comment on Proposals. Following the completion of the Testing Protocol (version 13), verification testing has begun in a number of laboratories and will begin soon in the remainder. First results from the 100 hour tests have been received and analysis is underway and will be published soon.
Click here to view the instructions for the laboratories taking part in the verification testing which include: a detailed breakdown of the aims of the comparative testing a listing of the laboratories involved (drawn from three continents) and details of the methods of data collection and analysis
This section also allows stakeholders to view the descriptive data sheets and the data recording tables being used by the labs. Further, the section also allows stakeholders to provide comments and input and to see the comments of other members of the CFL Harmonization Initiative.
Work to Date
The work to date began with a general discussion document on the direction the Focus Area would take and has since focused solely on the recruitment of laboratories to participate in the verification testing, and the development of the instructions and protocols to be followed before, during and after the testing. Future Work Plan
Due to capacity restrictions at a number of laboratories taking part in the verification testing process, and difficulty reaching consensus on a robust verification protocol, this task has been somewhat delayed. However, the table below provides a realistic projection of future activities.
